Here are two tips for buying pre-printed shipping labels.
Make Sure They Fit Your Printer
If you plan on using the shipping labels with a printer, then make sure they come in a format that fits the device. For instance, if you're using a standard home office printer, you want to get the labels tiled on a sheet rather than as single slips or a roll, because it's much easier to align and feed an entire sheet of paper through this type of printer than it is an individual 3-inch by 5-inch label.
Additionally, make sure the paper is designed for your specific printer type. Laser and inkjet printers are not the same. Laser printers use heat to apply the ink to the paper. Therefore, you need labels from paper that has special heat-resistant coatings to prevent the labels from sticking to the inside of the machine. Likewise, you cannot use paper designed for laser printers with inkjets because the coatings on laser paper will prevent the ink from drying quickly, potentially resulting in smeared or damaged labels.
